I think Arly has a good idea. When student LC's "take" from the seasoned
LC's, they should "promise" to give the same amount of time to the "next
generation" of LC's. This could be formalized. I know that in medicine,
doc's and PA's can claim some amount (NOT hour for hour!) of time for
supervising students that gives them CME (continuing med. educ.) credit.
Can an LC currently get any CERP's for supervising an LC student? Of
course the big bugaboo in this sort of arrangement is insurance issues,
hospital policies etc. But ONCE they are oversome, think of what a wide
path it makes for those who follow!
