Hello everyone,
I have a mom with a 5 day old who is nursing beautifully. The problem is
that mom has a terrible migraine, and has been told that with Imitrex, she
would have to pump & dump x24 hrs. She is very committed to breastfeeding
this baby ( her second) because with her first she nursed 2 weeks, (again
with headaches). As soon as she stopped nursing, the headaches went away.
She is very afraid that the same thing is happening.
Is there a correlation between prolactin, or oxytocin levels and migraines?
She is on a medication that is compatible with breastfeeding, but is isn't
helping at all.
This mom is ready to tough it out, but just doesn't know how much longer she
can last.
Thanks.
