It might interest you to know that parlodel is routinely prescribed by
doctors here in South Africa when a mother doesn't want to bf or when they
think weaning is indicated (eg mastitis) (sigh). Eglynol is also routinely
prescribed to increase milk supply, even though it is a schedule 5
antidepressant and creates dependance.
On the subject of Susan Molinari, our minister of Welfare and Population
Development, Geraldine Fraser Moleketi, raised quite a few eyebrows when
she breastfed her baby during a meeting at the time of the negotiations
between the then government and the ANC. She was recently on a TV talkshow
where she spoke about how she felt that breastfeeding was an important part
of nurturing her children and read a poem about a man who remembers being
breastfed as a child.
