Hello 'netters
Last week while speaking with a plastic surgeon, he told me how he counsel
mothers when they are told the baby they are carrying has a cleft lip. He said
when he talks to the parents at 24 weeks gestation he starts encourgaging the
mother to plan to breast feed this baby. Also he explains about the plastic
surgery repair that will be needed. He continued, saying by the time the baby is
delivered, the mother is usually confident that she can breastfeed along with
being better able to accept the baby's cleft lip .Isn't it refreshing to hear
M.D.'s. soooo committed to breastfeeding?
