Just a note: the Niplette is being distributed by Avent
America, a subsidiary of Cannon Babysafe. Their
advertisement claims "Completely safe, totally effective, and
available without a prescription." I called Avent and was told
that the FDA has approved the device.
BTW: a few weeks ago someone asked how the ducts fared
when inverted nipples evert. The literature that accompanies
the product advertising explains that the suction device holds
the nipple in the everted position and over the course of time
(a month is mentioned as typical) the tissue expands and
the ducts elongate. Again, that is the explanation they
provide.
My patient is really anxious to purchase this product, and
will likely do so. Still, any experience you can share will be
helpful. You can email me privately if you wish.
