I have heard the recommendation to put the baby's oral Nyatatin drops on teh
nipples.  I was givent this exact advice almost 9 years ago.  The stuff is
really sticky and so very inconvient for a mother to use.  Also, it was only
*after* I did this that my nipples cracked and bled.  If I wasn't a
committed La Lecha league Leader, I'm not sue if I would have had the
stamina to continue breastfeeding with such profound pain.  I was tandem
nursing at the time, and neither nursling had any signs of thrush in their
mouths or on their bottoms.  Culturing my nipples was how thrush was diagnosed.
