Jay--
What a terrific story, and one that fits in nicely with Marie's and
Melissa's comments about burnout. It really IS starting to happen! One of
these days there's going to be a critical mass of women in the developed
world who have breastfed, and then it's just going to suddently be the
normal, cultural thing (hope we all live to see that). Time was when if you
saw someone breastfeeding or using a Snugli, you knew she was probably
attending LLL meetings. And if someone had a family bed or was nursing a
toddler, you were POSITIVE she was going to LLL. Now I run into people who
have never heard of LLL (unfortunately, IMO) and who are practicing
attachment parenting. This is very encouraging. Hang in there, everyone. We
really ARE changing the world, one baby and mother at a time.
