Jeanette,
I was jsut having a ocnversation about this with someone the other
day. She mentioned that the formula companies focus on women's fear that
they won't have enough milk (to what extent they create that fear is
another question) and that that is something that should be addresses
in a bf commercial.
The problem with trying to pack in a lot of info into 30 seconds ort
a minute is that people are overloaded and cant' really take it in.
At one point I wrote a grant proposal to write a couple of public
sevice announcements about bf. I didn't get the grant so it didn't get very
far, but I was looking into producing them with the college of somunications
here and spoke with a couple of their professors about the practical aspects
of producing such a psa. You may wnat to see if there is anyone in your
area to consult with about how to make a commercial (a marketing person
and/or a communications person.)
Hope this is helpful. Oh, another idea. Look at som bf
pamphlets and videos to see what they focus on and how they address the issues.
Hope htis is helpful. Let me know how this progresses. I think this is
a great idea and there should be more psa type commercials on breastfeeding.
Sorry to be sending this by lactnet rather thanpersonal e-mail but
every time I send you something at your e-mail address it gets sent back
to me.
