What advice would you give to a mother in this situation?

Currently she is 6 months pregnant, expects to have 3-5 months of maternity
leave, then to go back to work full time. She is employed in a demanding
professional position, entailing plenty of overtime. (On the positive side,
she has a private office and controls her own working hours, so there are no
barriers to pumping.)

The question is, when should she beginning pumping a little and offering
breastmilk in bottles?

Should she start this at 6 weeks postpartum, so that the baby will be
accustomed to a bottle, and not reject it if introduced later? If so, how
often should she offer a bottle: daily, weekly?

Or, would you advise not offering bottles of breastmilk until she actually
returns to work? In this case, how far ahead of time should she begin
pumping in order to develop a supply of frozen milk?

Or would you advise not offering bottles at all, but offering cups of
breastmilk? I've read up on cup feeding in newborns, but what is your
experience with teaching a 3 month old to drink from a cup? Is an open cup
better, or a sippy cup, perhaps a cup with a straw?

Please share the benefit of your experience!
