Dear Jill,
I think that is a great Idea about a monthly news letter. We could also
include nurses who need education in a non threating way. So many of the
people in this group are so well spoken and informative-I've learned so much.
I also feel a Newsletter from this group would be better accepted than
something coming from me. I also get in "trouble"
for a variety of things like telling a mother that BF reduces the risk of
SIDS,(Don' t ever mention sids unless a mother asks) asking a diabetic nurse
who was planing to bottlefeed, if she was aware of the latest research on BF
and diabetes. (She told her doctor that I made her feel quilty.) This same
doctor does not like it when I talk about the contraceptive effects of
breastfeeding. (I'm real careful with this one but I was ammenoreic for 22
months with my first and over a year with my other two children.)
Back to your brainstorm I think it is a great idea-think of all the people we
could reach.
BTW keep up the good work.
Sincerely, Jane
