Hepatitis C infected mothers", J. Pediatr. 1995 Apr 126 (4), p 589-91 plus
comment p 670-1. (eleven Hep C postive moms, no transmission to
breastfed babies)
Zanetti, et.al, "Mother to Infant transmission of Hepatitis C virus",
Lancet 1995 Feb4 345(8945) 289-91. ( No transmission of Hep C in moms who
were HIV negative, although there was transmission of Hep C in some HIV
postive moms.)
Hope this helps. Tough decision, but I think these two relatively small
studies are somewhat reassuring for an otherwise healthy HIV-negative mom.
