I'm no pharmacist, but why should she continue "replacement hormones" now
her "normal" state is pregnancy and soon to be lactation? Her ovarian
output is being replaced at a time when she wants it suppressed? In Oz,
yes, we've been through estrogen for PND prevention: basic theory
underlying that nonsense was that women need to get back to "normal" as
though lactation is an abnormal state postpartum. Try long-chain
polyunsaturated fatty acids (evening primrose/fish oil) to improve mood
problems.

Vermox:"safety for use in breastfeeding has not been established" Such
statements are medico-legal cop-outs designed to try to put the blame for
any adverse side effects not on the company that has failed to do any
research on more than half the human race likely to need the product, but
on the person who chooses to use the product. Meaningless by itself but
misleading..

Thrush: Freezing may not kill yeats true. But why has no one mentioned that
breastmilk has anti-fungal (as well as anti-viral, anti-bacterial,
anti-parasitic) properties? Did I dream reading this years ago? Remember
all those samples that became negative over 5 days of refrigeration? why
wouldn't stored breastmilk kill thrush? why are we wasting liquid gold in
the absence of proof of harm???

Ross Labs, Free Trade and formula
Will someone please ensure that Berry Brazelton (and any other of the many
US paediatricians who virtuously boycott that Awful European Nestle and so
advantage that All-American Good Guy, Ross Labs) gets this information? I
live in hope of an active campaign against any of the big Americans, by
Americans, in the only country where they can be controlled, America....
Partly because lomg-term breastfeeding advocates chose not to boycott
Nestle Australia, Australia has an Agreement preventing such unethical
actions by any company manufacturing here. Australia has a law against
exporting infant formula not made to Australian standards, with heavy
penalties for breaching it. No wonder free trade on the world scene is
difficult: the commercial logic is that Australian companies too should
lower standards in order to compete??

Hot air. A final word about hot air seems apt after that little rant. I am
surprised that Egnell can prevent condensation in their tubing. I left my
books in the car overnight last night, found the plastic-covered ones
developed condensation moisture as they warmed up next day.How can Egnell
prevent their tubing being exposed to temperature changes? Why would the
air in the tubing behave dfferently? I ask as one with no allegiance to any
pump company at all......the only pump I verbally promote when teaching is
the $30 Australian foot pump and the Kaneson, along with women's hands!
What am I missing here?
