This is a response to Brian Palmer's long posting on Apr 21. My hands are
shaking as I type, so please grant me some leeway. I wish I had read Brian's
posting two years ago. My dear husband had a long history of snoring and what
I suspected at the time was sleep apnea. I never could convince him that it
was anything to be concerned about, much less mention to his MD. So, other
than some vague anxiety on my part, I never did anything more about it. He
was in good health other than being slightly overweight and being treated for
mild hypertension. He was not breastfed as a baby.
You know what is coming------------he died suddenly of a heart attack at the
age of 56.
I wonder what might have happened if I had been a little more insistent. I
have to smile at myself, "confessing" my innermost thoughts to 1000 readers!
I'm sorry for some of the sleeplessness that I may be causing some of you.
Thank you, Brian, for educating all of us.
I am a recent subscriber to Lactnet and find it as stimulating as going to a
daily conference. Where else could one have the opportunity to network with
colleagues from around the world? I am a LC in a hospital in Madison, WI,
having a love/hate relationship with my job. Most days I feel blessed by
the responses of the mothers I work with. Then, there are those other
days------. I'm so glad you are all there.
