Syringes can also be cut with a good pair of scissors.  We used to send the
syringes to hospital maintanence to be cut with their saw -- as hospital folks
know, this takes prior planning and lots of time.  The other day, we needed a
cut syringe and were out of them.  I got the desk scissors and simply cut.  It
worked!
