And one more time - if the companies - any companies - did not think they would increase
their profits and sales, they would not do it. Why advertise if everyone goes out and
researches every decision they make? The day that happens advertising will be dead. Yes
it's great that some folk do go out and make informed decisions. But I refuse to dismiss those
who for a variety of reasons do not - perhaps they do not have access to good information,
perhpas they cannot afford the time or money to go out and get it. Perhaps they are so
ground down by poverty that they don't know where to start. (OH dear, was that a
bit bolshie for the States?) Perhaps they need the extra 10 IQ points to be able to distinguish
between advertising and information...
For the proponents of free market - do you support drug dealers advertising their wares and
services? Just wondering....
