Hi friends and Happy New year to all. I have been in Central America for a
month and missed all of the funny weather. During some of the time I was
there we were working in Nicaragua and Honduras to field test a couple of
instruments that we at Wellstart have been developing together with La Liga
de la Lactancia Materna de Honduras that would systematize both community
monitoring of breastfeeding activities as well as the integration of
breastfeeding into community child survival and maternal child primary
health care. It is very exciting and I am hoping that we will be able to
finish field testing these instruments and I will be able to report on
results during the ILCA conference.

We are looking for a research reference on nursing during pregnancy. Does
anyone know of any studies that have been carried out, especially in a
developing country context that would give us information on mother's
nutritional status and birth weight outcomes?

Thanks.
