Hello all:

_Child_ magazine's advice re: 10 month olds and reducing nursing in favor
of solids sounds almost exactly like the advice offered by some of the
most popular child-rearing books in America. These books, which purport
to tell moms what to expect at various stages of pregnancy and
child-rearing suggest weaning at 9 months as optimal and give the "no
more than 2 nursings a day" line for that age group. Needless to say, I
threw my copy out! I guess that's why poor little Patrick, who (at least
until I got pregnant) was regularly nursing more
than 2X/day at 2.5 yrs only weighs 35# and stands 40". I just don't feed
him enough solids!
