I have received calls like this on many occasions. It's usually because the
mum has gone from one feed per day straight to none. This seems logical to
them, but often results in engorgement. Is this what happened here? They
need to go to one feed every few days, or at least express, for a while to
allow the supply to keep reducing slowly. They are often surprised at the
amount of milk they are making when baby is feeding only once per day. It
can be quite significant.
