At our small hospital 33 beds 100 deliveries a year my standing OB admit
orders state.  If mother is breastfeeding, substitues may be given only on
specific order of the physician.  If the mother requests supplements, the
nurses must call be first before they can give it.  This gives me a chance to
talk to the mom and find out what the problems are.  SOmetimes this works,
sometimes they still "give Up" and Artificial feed.
