Judging from the level of intensity of the birth stories that are coming out
here on Lactnet...a list for lactation.....it is amazing to me that more
people don't get the connection between a positive birthing experience which
strengthens women, and lasts through their lifetime.. (as opposed to one
that doesn't...one that saps the energy and contributes to low self esteem
that is already so prevalent.).. and later breastfeeding outcomes... After
2 medicated hospital births, I am eternally grateful for my last daughter's
birth into this world in the home I sit in now...4 years ago this Friday. It
sure was hard work, and I will never ever forget the feeling of Yes, I can
do this, that came with it.

Not to bore you all with the details, on this list that is meant for
lactation..but it was truly a life changing experience for me.

I am proud and wistful at recalling this... Kathleen
