An excerpt from an article in this evening's Phoenix Gazette, by staff writer
David Cannella, wherein he tells of (former U.S.Senator & presidential
candidate) Barry Goldwater's visit to a breakfast meeting with the mayor of
Scottsdale, who is soon to retire:
"...Goldwater, a native Arizonan, was asked what his earliest thoughts were of
Scottsdale. 'When I first came here, I was nursing,' Goldwater said. 'I
couldn't say anything because I had my mouth full.'..."
