All you private practice Lcs out there: Do you all have a physician that
backs up your practice to protect you legally. A friend of mine attended a
course in preparation for the IBCLC exam and this was brought up as something
necessary for private practice lcs. I believe this is a good idea and would
like to know from others how they recruited a doc. to do this, OB or PED?
etc... As it stands in my practice( which is very new but growing fast),
whenever we do a consult we allways provide the info to the ped and or OB via
fax or mail. The info I got at the private practice conference in Shaumberg
was exellent and communication with the health care provider was stressed as
necessary, but not Necessarily a medical Director. All comments and
suggestions welcome.
Also, the attorney that presented at my friends conference talked about a law
suit against a rental station for a pump sucking a childs eyeball out of its
socket!!!!!!! Anyone know anything about this? I have never heard of such
thing happening and with all the things on this list you would think youve
Heard everything!!!!!!!!
