Kathy D.,
It isn't often that I find myself cheering out loud in response to a message,
but when I cheered out loud 3 times while reading "Jumping into the fire", I
just HAD to let you know!
On Tue, 16 Apr 1996 06:21:04 -0500 you wrote:
Re epidurals: >> not only do anesthesiologists make buckets of money whenever
they do any procedure, but they also get to play the role of the high and
mighty who magically relieve pain.<< - Isn't that the truth!!!!
Re prostate screenings, and community health and hospitals: >>"How many
surgeries of this type does it take for the hospital to recoup the $7000 for
the screening? The rest of the necessary surgeries identified are then pure
profit." "...they don't do any breastfeeding promotion -" "and I said "So, it
appears as if youreally aren't interested in the health of the community,
you're only interested in activities that result in people using your
services, such as the mammography center, and of course surgery." << -
Right again!!!
Re guilt approach ad campaigns: >>"If you don't breastfeed your child for two
years, he won't be disappointed. He'll just have life-long health problems,
and won't be as bright as he might have been."<< - I see you've read
Dianne W.'s editorial too - wasn't it great?!!!
Re "Lifeline" buzzers ...to prevent SIDS!": >> I pointed out that co-sleeping
and breastfeeding were much better preventative measures"<< - Right once
again, of course, but babies don't charge for co-sleeping, so they couldn't
make a profit. Sad....
Re: "Whaddya think?" - I think you're great Kathy! That's what I think.
Your post really made my day and I thank you for that!
