Hi all,
I really like Louise's question about mom's reaction. Maybe if the response
from the LC was presented as "I understand you requested a bottle for baby.
Was wondering if there was a BF prob or if you were tired and needed a
break," or something like that (I'm not the best at phrasing things well
sometimes, so please don't yell at me! I know my quest doesn't sound all
that great, but I hope y'all know what I mean! ) :).
This way, mom isn't made to feel stupid, incompetent, etc.
On the subject of visitors, I agree that at many times there are WAY too many
people going in and out of the new moms rooms. I know that in my case, I
finally asked my friends and family to leave. Not because I was shy about BF
Ben in front of them, which I wasn't, but simply because I was tired, and had
to use the bathroom, and my gown didn't close in the back! After everyone
was gone it was heaven! Until the nurses started coming in unannounced, and
the Ped who came in at 2:30 am to do the PKU and woke us up, and the noise in
the hall......you get the drift. At least I was in my own room (even tho
there was a LARGE cricket camping out in the shower so I didn't take a shower
'till I got home the next day!)
