        In answer to Jill Meltzer's request for references to share with the
doctor who was overtreating jaundice, I would suggest the following:

Gartner, LM. Neonatal Jaundice.   Pediatrics in Review 1994; 15:422-432

American Academy of Pediatrics.  Practice Parameter: Management of
Hyperbilirubinemia in the Health Term Newborn.  Pediatrics 1994; 94:558-565

        This should provide a solid review of the subject and the "official"
guidelines for management.  If he wants any more information, please ask the
doctor to contact me directly.
