Since receiving a copy of a press clipping with this
enticing headline, I have been dithering over whether to
share it over the Lactnet. I've decided to let you know that
I have it in the event that any of you would like a copy
(one page), which I could fax or send by snail mail on
request. It is dated 4 December 1995 from Investor's
Business Daily, picked up by the Broadcast Monitoring
Company in London, and concerns Martek Biosciences
Corporation in Columbia, Maryland, which "has created a baby
formula ingredient made up of fatty acids that independent
researchers claim enhance mental and visual development in
infants. The company has licensed this product, Formulaid,
to 5 infant formula makers, which represent 45% of the $5
billion worldwide formula market ... Formulaid is made from
microalgae and fungi using Martek's proprietary technology."
