Hello. On the subject of witches' milk in male infants; I participated in a
study 19 yrs. ago on the composition of witches' milk when I had my second
son. For several weeks after his birth I expressed (quite easily, he didn't
seem to mind at all) some fluid from his breasts a couple of times a week.
It's hard to believe, but I don't have (or can't find at the moment) records
of who did the study or any other details. It was a study approved through
LLLI. I believe the study lasted about six weeks, after which time there was
no longer any "milk" to express. The baby was completely normal and his
breasts which had been slightly swollen, looked just like his brothers'
afterward. If anyone knows of a study done 19 yrs. ago most probably at the
Univ. of CA. at Berkeley or possibly San Francisco, I'd love to know!
Wishing I'd kept better records, Janaki
