Warm greetings to all on Lactnet, from Johannesburg. I have been
involved with the protection, promotion and support of
breastfeeding in South Africa for the last 5 years. We have
borrowed the analogy of (Auerbach's?) the 3-legged stool and
changed it into an African cooking pot, which also has 3 legs. I
am married to Sean, a computer whizz, who helps me with all this
cyber-stuff, and mother of two girls, 12 and 10 years.

Thank you to those who took the time to get this list going. It
is going to be very useful. 1995 was a down-year for me and the
last few weeks of watching Lactnet has already picked me up!
Books are expensive here - multiply whatever you pay in the
States by at least 5! Journals take an age to do the rounds.
Medical libraries are for staff and students. Our postal service
is horrendous. All this adds up to a poor information system. I
really appreciate the posts that give references re. particular
topics. Please be patient with all my questions!

Looking forward to learning a lot this year, Lynn.
