Marie, what a shocking story! That business about the post C/S
mom saying that you, of all people, called her a "bad mother"
sounds so bizarre that I tend to think that maybe this C/S was
unexpected and traumatic and that SHE thinks that she's a "bad
mother" because she didn't deliver vaginally. She needs a LOT of
support and followup, to watch for successful bonding with the
baby (which may be at risk), and to watch for depression. I had a
friend who was severely traumatized by C/S, has overcompensated
for many years by trying to be supermom, was on antidepressants,
etc. etc.
Besides all this, I am shocked by the staff's behavior. IMO, they
were completely out of line, from not defending you to calling
the husband in (??!) to shlepping in an anesthetist. Talk about
escalation! Good grief, what do nurses there do besides change
poopy diapers and weigh babies? Don't they learn about pp off-
the-wallisms and how to deal with them aside from anesthesia?
Wow, blew my mind. Just my opinion, granted, and from faaaar
away. Judy Knopf in Israel
