In Orlando, Dr. Shafaq Rahimova from Azerbijahn presented a research paper
studying the effects of lack of breastfeeding on future reproductive success.
She found that infertility was higher in adults who were not breastfed -
both males and females. Males had lower testosterone. She was encouraged to
publish this study in the JHL.
Marianne Neifert also thinks there's a window of opportunity in the first 5
days to get BF geared up. I completely agree, based on my experiences. The
first week MUST go right or full lactation may be compromised for that
lactation cycle. I think that's also true in other mammals, but some of you
biochemists may have more on this. Use it or Lose it, folks - true for
muscle strength, and probably true for milk too.
