Not only does the World Health Authority have a code in place that MANY
nations voted their approval on (yes, even the US) it makes it clear that
advertisement of infant formula, free gifts to professionals, free samples
in the hospital to new parents, and sponsoring professional conferences,
etc., are direct violations.

In the USA, the WIC programs (i.e., your tax dollars at work!) buys 47% off
all the formula sold!!! This has greatly contributed to the low
breastfeeding rates among indigent and low-income women whose babies are FAR
more likely to become ill. These babies are usually covered under Medicaid,
so the tax payers again pay for formula's consequences. Two years ago it was
published that the US could save $29,000,000 EACH MONTH if all mothers on
the WIC program would breastfeed for one month! Currently in Texas, 6% of
all WIC moms breastfeed.
See my signature at the end for what you can do to change these practices.
