You may remember the baby I posted about a few weeks ago - 5 weeks old, still below
birth weight and refusing to latch even if milk was dripping everywhere.
Thanks so much to all of you who gave suggestions via Lactnet or personally.
The mum is ecstatic!! Tried and shield and baby latched on and fed wonderfully.
Now gaining weight well, no comps, mum so relieved.
It seems that the extra stimulus to the palate was needed to get this little
one to feed.
We are now planning to get baby on minus the shield, but softly, softly.

Having successful outcomes like this makes all the work worthwhile.
