Alfredo Pisacane and his group published an interesting study in 1995
Iron ststus in breastfed infants, J Peds, Sept. 95, 429-31. In a nut
shell, the longer a baby was exclusively BFed, the better their iron
levels at 12 and 24 mos.  Lots of interesting details in the study.
I would like to hear this physician discuss the many studies he has
conducted regarding the LONG term effects of exclusive breastfeeding at
the 1997 ILCA conference. Hope a conference planner is on line! Anne
