Ouch!  It is so hard when a mom wants to bf and baby won't.  Has anyone been
able to get a good look in this infant's mouth?  Is there a palate abrasion
from suctioning, or some anomaly?  Is baby being worked up for group B strep?
 Kids who have GBS sometimes present with anorexia.
        If all the medical things check out, I would refer this little one to
an OT or PT knowledgeable about breastfeeding.  If maintaining body temp is
not an issue, mom might be able to get this baby to lick an ice cube (or ebm
cube).  Some babies with oral aversions find cold stimuli easier to tolerate.
 Keep us posted.
        The letter from Ms. Robin sounded nice, but if her intent is really to
help moms find bf help sooner, she should not have gone to so much effort to
characterize LLL as a cult.  I personally found the book venomous, pure and
simple.
