This article is from AUSTRALIAN DOCTOR magazine 9 Feb."It's not impossible
for a male animal to grow mammary glands and then give milk. A herd of goats
in Bathurst, west of Sydney, has male goats which are regularly milked by the
goatherds. These are perfectly normal goats, with normal male genitals, who
have fathered baby goats, yet they can breastfeed ,or udder-feed their
young.Drs Francis, Anthony,Brunton and Kunz from Boston University published
a report in Nature(Feb 1994) about the Dayak Fruit bats of Malaysia. They
captured 10 adult male bats, all who had mammary glands that were swollen
with breast milk.It turns out that starvation can make men lactate. In one
Japanese concentration camp alone, there were 500 starved male
prisoners-of-war who were lactating." It goes on to explain why this
happened. The article was written byDr. Kruszelnicki. He has degrees in
medicine, physics,mathmatics and engineering
