Mary Young in Michigan fought the same battle I had to fight sixteen year ago
(also in Michigan). Dental disease in a breastfeeding baby, blamed on
nighttime nursing, and a ban on parents accompanying the toddler in the
treatment room. I too found a dentist who would permit Dad to hold our son in
his lap during the procedure. (while I obsessed at home)

Of course children "behave" better without their parents there. That makes
it easier for the dentist. But that does not mean that the children "feel"
better. Or that they tolerate it better.

Kudos to the dentist who was willing to work with you.
Kudos to you for being persistant.
We need to advocate for our children, when others won't.
