I have just set myself "no mail", just to catch up. Will be back soon.
About blanching of the nipple: I had that problem nursing my first born.
The nipple would blanch after a nursing session, as well as after any
trauma (rubbing, cold, etc...). I controlled it with extreme TLC, quickly
covering the nipple, keeping it warm, using only bm rather than creams,
ointment, etc...
I did not have the same problem for the second child, using TLC from the
start. At my third child, I got "lured" into leaving my sore nipples
uncovered, and got stung again; breast shells helped, and positioning
too, of course. My main message is: be gentle to these sensitive nipples.
