Toby, Have you eliminated prenatal vitamins with iron? Or is the baby on
vitamins with iron?
Moans in her sleep sounds like food sensitivities. You mentioned that she
eliminated milk; did she read labels for any dairy component? Some
margarines have a milk base. Breads can be made with milk. There can be
caseine in many products. She will have to read labels carefully. There is
dairy hidden in so many products. Not everyone has to be this diligent, but
many do.
The reaction to the abm is a clue that it is food related,IMO.
I have had two mothers recently with similar problems to this case. One chose
to wean after finding about 80% resolution, because she just couldn't handle
the food restrictions. It has been a challenge to find something he can
tolerate. The other one has totally resolved the crying by CLOSE monitoring
of mother's diet. This baby also moaned and tossed in his sleep. Now he is
a happy little one, both awake and alseep. She discovered that he was also
sensitive to peanut butter and perhaps soy.
As I posted earlier, I think we are seeing another result of these mothers'
having been fed abm as infants.
