Our local rate was 9% about 5 years ago. Our OBs were very experienced in
forceps and breech deliveries. Our community isn't driven by litigation.
More recently we have imported younger OBs who are very quick to decide that
emergency C/S is the only option. Now our rate is climbing- 18%. We know
what the outcome will be, depending on who the specialist on call is.

Mary, whose 1995 stats must be a world record for unexpected C/Ss.
