I found Chris Mulford's post on this VERY interesting. One of my favorite
things about nursing my 3 children has been that wonderful mellow
feeling that causes ME to go to sleep too! Nursing has always been a
very strong sleep-inducer for me.Drifting off to sleep while nursing is,
I feel, one of life's little-known luxuries.I don't get to drift off
like this in mid-day nearly as often as I used to, now that there are 3
kids , with the resulting busier schedules .I know that this is one of
the things I will miss the most when my youngest weans!
I have always been under the impression that the sleep-inducing effect
was caused by the hormones released during nursing- whether prolactin,
oxytocin, or both, caused the drowsiness, I never really knew, but it
sounds like I had the wrong idea, and it is really this CKK???
Can anyone else discuss CKK more?
TIA,
Ellen
