Janet,
Was the baby evaluated for tongue-tie? What you are describing might
possibly resemble the "snap-back" of a tongue that is trying to extend
but cannot maintain long enough for a good peristaltic wave; not every
frenulum problem presents classically. This might be totally off-base,
but it is a thought (I've had a wave of them lately).
