Linda,

What do mom's nipples look like when they come out of babe's mouths?
Gestatioal and current age of babies?
What else is going on?

Sorry for all the questions. I've had several similar cases, smoe invloving
twins. While growth certainly helps some interim stuff is sometimes
necessary for reasons of comfort etc. Of course encouraging a wide gapis
very important. As the baby sucks with a wide gape cheek muscles are
strenghthened. I believe as they strengthen the palatial arch developes a
more comfortable arch.

My clients have found ot helpful to have the baby latch approaching from
below the nipple abit rather than straight on. This encourages a wide open
mouth. Also a full mouth of milk an good swallowing helps the baby to keep
the breast tissue far back in the mouth. Some of my mothers used a feeding
tube device or an eyedropper to encourage swallowing after it slowed down and
baby slipped down to the nipple.

Mandibluar massage also helps a tight baby to relax.

More details on this case would be helpful if you can share.
