Big intervention in my book, but probably wouldn't hurt as much as any
'testing' (if there is a milk transfer problem).

In my practice pre and post feed weights are considered a part of a thorough
examination on an infant, especially one who is not gaining well. Not doing
a before and after weight with a baby who is not gaining well is like trying
to help an adult lower blood pressure without taking the blood pressure. If
I were to take my baby who was not gaining well to a physician and the
doctor did not weigh the baby, I would question the doctor's competence.

Several times I have observed infants who appeared to be nursing well who
did not consume adequate amounts of milk. The research has shown that
observation is not a reliable method of determining intake.

Off the Soapbox for now. Next?
