I saw an article a number of years ago about a slightly older infant who
refused all solids. Turned out he had a zinc deficiency. This can change the
taste perception and makes things taste nasty. I would suggest a work up to
see whether the child has normal zinc levels.
Another highly allergic baby I worked with (weeping eczema all over his body)
had an environmental allergy to carpet fumes. He was extremely sensitive to
food by mouth and reacted to foods coming thru mothers milk until the main
aggrevating factor was removed. Parents ripped carpets out of home and car.
Now baby can tolerate many foods in moderation and on rotation plans.
