With great haste, we fired off our first question without properly
introducing ourselves, and before reviewing the netiquette rules. Oops!

We are: Susan Autio Discharge Planning and Family Education
Coordinator and Jan Moreau Educator, Special Care Nursery@ British
Columbia's Children's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C.

We are member of the SCN feeding committee and are actively promoting
and supporting breastfeeding in the neonatal ICU. Over the past two
years promoting breastfeeding has been a high priority in the SCN,
resulting in a much higher percentage of mothers providing EBM and
breastfeeding their infants. Currently we are struggling over breast vs.
bottle vs. gavage feedings and looking for alternative methods that are
researched based.
