Have any of you seen the recent article in Scientific American,
(Dec. 1995) "How Breast Milk Protects Newborns"? It is a good
overview of infection issues. Written by an MD, Jack Newman, it is
technical enough to appeal to other MDs. Long list of the cells
and molecules present in HM but not that other stuff.
I think I will a send a copy to my ex-ped, who told me in the
hospital that he "considered all newborns to be immune-compromised
for the first two months of life." He knew I was breastfeeding.
