Re iron needs in young children, I'll continue to plug the book
Diet, Demography and Disease: Changing Perspectives on Anemia, edited by
Susan Kent, Patricia Stuart-Macadam and Eugene Weinberg. Aldine de Gruyter
publishers. Or look up anything recently by Eugene Weinberg.
There is plenty of evidence suggesting that young children are HARMED by
iron supplementation.
Also, would someone please send me the references that claim it that
children can get all the nutrition they need from breast milk up until 12
months. This is contrary to every infant growth study that I have seen
published in the past 40 years, and I would like to know what this is based
on.
