I would watch the baby's weight carefully, and consider doing a urinalysis
for protein, to see if the baby may have a kidney problem,ie spilling
protein. If baby continued to lose weight, I would likely do more of a baby
disease workup, assuming baby is receiving adequate breastmilk (as it is
assumed given amount of poopie diapers). Anne Eglash MD
