Shirley Gross posted a reference recently to a study showing that
manually expressed MM had a higher sodium content than pumped MM> I
wonder if anyone on LACTNET can comment on which of these expression
methods is believed to result in milk composition closest to that which
the baby orally expresses> If there is any reason to believe that any
form of expression changes MM"s composition what does that do to
potentially invalidate many of the studies on milk composition? Or is
any difference so small as to be practically insignificant?

(Sorry about my wierd punctuation but my keyboard is on the fritz)
