Needed some info on sustained release nifedipine and preterm
infants. I have a 34 week infant in our NICU whose mother is
receiving 30mg daily. Our Dr. are currently not sure what to do
because of the similar classification to Verapamil, which has
been associated with a case of sudden cardiac death in a newborn
(word of mouth, with no specifics, any one know of this and was
it related to breastmilk intake???) Drugs in Pregnancy was
limited to plasma levels after a single dose - not repeated
dosing. Anyone care to comment or offer specific resources to
review?
